Meet Alison Brooks
Office Manager & Keeper of Traditions at The Clog Barn
Welcome to The Clog Barn, where every detail is infused with a touch of Dutch heritage and the warm spirit of our community. I’m Alison Brooks, the office manager here at The Clog Barn. Keeping our operations smooth and our visitors happy is not just my job—it’s my passion.
Family Roots and Cultural Connections
As the granddaughter of Tom Hartsuyker, the founder of The Clog Barn, and daughter of John, I’ve grown up amidst the tales and traditions of the Netherlands. My role extends beyond daily management; I am a custodian of my grandfather’s legacy, ensuring that the rich stories and culture he brought from the Netherlands continue to thrive here in Coffs Harbour.
Engaging with Our Community
You’ll often find me around The Clog Barn during the week, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. I also manage our social media presence, keeping you updated on all the happenings via Facebook and Instagram. Whether it’s a new event, a special behind-the-scenes look, or just everyday moments at The Clog Barn, I love bringing these stories to you.
Life Beyond The Clog Barn
When I’m not at The Clog Barn, I cherish my time with my husband Andrew, our daughter Lyla, and our three beloved fur babies. Family is everything to me, and it’s this foundation that reinforces my commitment to making The Clog Barn a welcoming place for all families and visitors.
A Legacy of Learning
Much of my knowledge about Dutch culture stems from the extensive conversations I had with my grandfather about his life before migrating to Australia. These stories have not only enriched my personal heritage but have also deepened my appreciation for the unique cultural experiences we offer to our visitors.
Join Us
I invite you to explore The Clog Barn, discover our Dutch-themed attractions, and perhaps share a moment or two with me about your own family traditions. Let’s make memories together that bridge cultures and generations.
